Nigeria's Rema says, "My first job was working at a beach in Ghana."

The afrobeat sensation from Nigeria, Rema, has disclosed that his first job was at a beach bar in Ghana.

The 24-year-old, Rema claims that after his father and brother passed away, he had to grow up fast.

“At some point, things got hard, and I had to man up. My past life has the same effect on my present life. I had to work hard because I lost my brother and I lost my dad, and I was the only one; things were left to me. I had to put things in place. So, I had to work hard; I did all sorts of things.

“I worked at a beach bar; that was my first job in Ghana,” he stated during an interview on Capital Xtra.

Divine Ikubor, better known as Rema, is a Nigerian singer, rapper, and songwriter. On May 1, 2000, he was born in Benin City, Nigeria’s Edo State.

Rema is well-known for his worldwide smash song “Calm Down,” a remix of which included pop sensation Selena Gomez.
