Ghanaian musician, rapper, and fashion model Mohammed Ismail Sherif, commonly known as Black Sherif, rose to fame in 2021 with the release of his song “First Sermon,” which he published in May of that same year. In July of 2021, the “Second Sermon” was delivered in response to this.
His breakthrough came in March 2022 when he released the smash song “Kwaku the Traveller,” which peaked at number one on the Apple Music charts in both Nigeria and Ghana. On October 5, 2022, he then published his debut album, The Villain I Never Was.
In Ghana’s Ashanti Region, Black Sherif was born and reared in Konongo-Zongo.
Sherif completed his elementary education at Konongo Zongo Islamic Basic School before graduating from junior high school at Pinamang Educational Complex. After completing his secondary school at Kumasi Academy, he developed a passion in music and dance while participating in the Literary Group (LG) of the Students Representative Council.
Black Sherif’s other works include “Kilos Milos,” “Yaya,” “Shut Up,” and “Soja,” to name a few.
